Cortney Seltman is a mother, a BIRTHING FROM WITHIN® Mentor, a Birth Arts trained doula, and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200). She completed her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training with Lisa Clark of EmbodiYoga. In 2011, she co-founded the first Yoga in Action group in Pittsburgh with Off the Mat, Into the World®. She is currently working to complete a Masters Degree in Counseling, focusing on health and wellness during the perinatal period.
Cortney offers mentoring and counseling sessions for individuals and groups, teaches prenatal and postpartum yoga and Birthing From Within Childbirth Preparation classes and has supported women and their families through pregnancy, labor and birth at home, in a free-standing birth center, and in hospitals. She is passionate about every woman and every family feeling supported and nourished during the journey and transformation through pregnancy, childbirth, motherhood and parenting.
She loves traveling, growing and preparing food, exploring and creating music and art, and creating celebrations and ritual for nourishment and inspiration. One day, she plans to offer family friendly retreats and travel experiences for pregnant couples and young families.
Born and raised in Central Vermont, and based in Pittsburgh since 2008, she makes her home on a small urban homestead near Frick Park with her partner and three sons. These days she spends most of her days momma-ing, playing in the garden and in the park, feeding people, cultivating the village, and finding bliss in domesticity.
